Dear Sharon,
Although you and I have never met, the stories of your young married life and the addition of a son were often shared by my brother, Alfred Butler who served in the Navy with Terry.
My parents, Bill and Elizabeth loved him like a son and often had furniture restoring projects waiting for him when he and my brother would come home on leave. We lived in an old colonial on Staten Island, one of the 5 boroughs of New York City.
I actually must confess that Terry was my first heartthrob and although he was always a total gentleman (never even kissed me) he took the time to correspond regularly with me when he was in the service which helped me over some bumps.
My heart is sad for your loss and I understand you will never stop missing him and what he was to you and your family. I too, lost my husband of 47 yrs, in January of 2021. I have been blessed by my involvement in Griefshare.org and pray that you may find peace as you walk this road.
