Tiffany and Tommy. We are so saddened to hear of Mark’s passing. I am not able to come down to Clarinda again so soon (my hometown) as I got back last week and it has left me pretty drained. Our hearts and thoughts are with you both. Tiffany, call me, I know you will need someone in the coming days and I know exactly where you are. Tommy, you stop by ANY time! We miss you! So many hugs and our most sincere condolences! Love Kathy and Ben Halderman

I am so saddened to hear of Mark's passing. We graduated high school together. I considered Mark to be a very good friend of mine. His humor, kind heart, and especially his laughter, really set him apart from the crowd. There were many times we cut lunch from school and went to the Orient Dairy Sweet for pizza burgers and fries, and a cigarette before going back to school. We discovered the silo type fire slide outside the art room. We his in there one day for a cigarette and got caught. We denied we were smoking, but when the door opened, smoke rolled out behind us. We laughed all the way to the principals office. Although I hadn't seen Mark since graduating, he came up in memory conversations with my children about my high school days. He will leave a big old hole in this world. May his children and family know just how much Mark left a smile and laughter, with everyone he ever touched. Rest easy Mark, you will be missed.
