Kenny, was a farmer of the first degree. He had more knowledge and experience with corn, soybeans and hogs than ten other farmers combined. I remember Kenny when he was younger and I lived around Villisca and Red Oak. When I was about 14 or 15 I worked for what at the time was called the Villisca Farmers Cooperative. Some time in the year of 1973 soybeans had reached a high point and Kenny had some untreated soybean seed left that he wanted to sell before the price fell. I remember helping him get the seed into the seed storage area so the manager Eli Vaughn could pay Kenny. Kenny was a good friend of my Father's and a kind man to my Mother. He was also a good friend of my Iowa farmer Grandfather Albert Stille. I remember as children Dad would receive a gift of "roastenears" from Kenny so we always knew when this happened we would be having corn on the cob for supper. I knew two of Kenny's sons Dave and John and both acquired Kenny's gentlemanly demeanor and sound judgement. Kenny was good to Iowa, she will miss him.
