Funeral services for Betty Kelley, 93 of Clearmont, will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 14, at Walker-Merrick-Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel in Clarinda with interment at Clearmont Cemetery, Clearmont, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to Maryville Living Center. Everyone is invited to the Ice House following the services. Betty Jean (Hayner) Kelley was born July 27, 1925 to William Clement Hayner and Sylvia Louethel (Parker) Hayner in their home at Coin, Iowa. Her family moved to Clarinda, Iowa when she was about a year old. Betty graduated Clarinda High School and worked in Clarinda for a time. She worked at Parris-Dunn Manufacturing Company making training rifles for the military during World War II. She went to help her sister in Monroe, Virginia while her sister's husband was in the service. Betty worked in the Civil Service in payroll at Fort Monroe, Virginia in 1944 and 1945. She returned to Clarinda and married Burman Kelley March 29, 1947 at the Christian Parsonage, Clarinda, Iowa. They settled in rural Clearmont and farmed until 1971 when they moved into Clearmont. Betty worked at Lorraine Company in Bedford and NSK in Clarinda retiring in 1987. Betty was a member of the Christian Church, Clearmont, WW Club in Clearmont and she enjoyed oil painting and rock painting. Her greatest enjoyment was her family and friends. Betty passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Maryville Living Center, Maryville, Missouri at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her husband Burman in 2005, her parents, William and Sylvia Hayner, and brothers-in-law Marvin Whitehouse and Ralph Morgan. She is survived by her two children, Bill Kelley and wife Rosalea of Maryville, Missouri and Cheryl Estabrook and husband Marvin of Sterling, Kansas; grandchildren Timothy Kelley and wife Meredith and their children Garrett and Lana of Atlanta, Georgia, Cindy Martin and husband Rollie and their children Owen, Reed and Rollie Tyler of Hopkins, Missouri, Andrea Estabrook and significant other Jake Higgins of Sterling, Kansas, and Sgt 1st Class Steven Estabrook and wife Aubrey and their children Kai and Adeline of Fountain, Colorado; and Betty’s only sibling, her sister Hazel Morgan of Augusta, Kansas; and other nieces and nephews.
