David Lynn Westover was born October 11, 1954 in Clarinda, Iowa to Freddie Dean and Lola Willimina (Sweeten) Westover. He attended Kindergarten through 6th grade at Grant Elementary School, 7th through 8th grade at Elliott Middle School, 9th grade at Lewis High School and graduated from Griswold High School.
After graduation he worked for a bee keeper, Ed Weeks, and he also worked at Muller pig farms. Later he chose to work just for Muller Pig farms until he went to work for Ro Mech in Red Oak, Iowa.
On August 19, 1977, he married Rebecca (Becky) June Weston at the Methodist Church in Grant, Iowa. They were blessed with three children: Jesse, Jude and Callie.
David loved to joke around, whether it was appropriate or not, he just wanted to make people laugh.
He loved to fish, coon hunt, work on his mower, metal detecting, watching sports and car races on tv. He enjoyed going the kids sporting events, the stock car races in Corning, driving around Grant and then going to the Hayloft for his tea. For years he enjoyed cooking fish and chicken at the Hayloft’s fish and chicken frys. Most of all he loved and enjoyed his grandkids.
David passed away suddenly December 31, 2017 at Cass County Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, sister, Linda Hansen and niece Keely Westover.
He is survived by his wife, Becky of Grant, Iowa; sons, Jesse Westover of Grant, Iowa, Jude Westover (fiancé Danni) of Grant, Iowa; daughter Callie Westover (significant other, Anthony Hytrek) of Lewis, Iowa; brother Dennis Westover (Linda) of Emerson, Iowa; sisters Donna Denison (Roger) of Atlantic, Iowa and Judy Poerio of Atlantic, Iowa; grandchildren, Alex Rush, Kaden Westover, Hunter Chamberlin, Talon Westover, Trentynn Hytrek, Sotoriah Westover, Rosalynn Chamberlin and Liam Westover.
