Obituary of Margaret Grashorn

MARGARET "MAGGIE" GRASHORN Margaret Mary Grashorn was born July 6th, 1962 to Elmer and Catherine (Moser)Grashorn in Corning Iowa. She passed away in Council Bluffs at Jennie Edmunson Hospital . She graduated from New Market High School in 1981. Following high school she worked as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) for several nursing homes in the area and then was a retail cashier for Walmart, Kmart and Dollar General. Left to cherish her memory are her parents Elmer and Catherine, sister Becky Kreikemeier (Gary) of Bellwood NE, brother Lonnie Grashorn of New Market, sister Patricia of Clarinda , brother Terry Grashorn of Villisca, and brother Clayton (Chaundra) Grashorn of College Springs. She is also survived by nieces Melissa Kreikemeier of Kihea, Hawaii, Amanda (Adam) Krueger of Kearney, Lysney Martenson (Joel) of Aurora, NE and Amy Kreikemeier of Fremont NE. , Natalie Story of Glenwood, Kelsea Grashorn of College Springs, Britnee Hedlund of Emerson and Nykkohl Hedlund of Osceola, NE . Nephews include Tony (Julie) Kreikemeier of Shelby, NE, Brian Story of Glenwood, and Josh Grashorn of Denison, Iowa. She is also survived by great nieces Alivia and Brooke Kreikemeier of Shelby, and Blakely Krueger of Kearney. Great nephews are Eli and Ty Kreikemeier of Shelby and Jack and Alek Kreuger of Kearney. Also mourning her loss will be many cousins and friends. Maggie loved the color yellow and had a great love for her dogs and embroidery was a hobby. She spent many hours playing rummy with her mom as she spent time caring for her parents with her sister, Patty. She is preceded in death by her brother Bernard Grashorn and sister, Pamela Hedlund. Mass of Christian Burial for Maggie Grashorn, 55 of Clarinda, will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018 at St. Clare Catholic Church, Clarinda, with interment at Villisca Cemetery. Visitation and wake will be held 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Walker-Merrick-Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel, Hwy 2 Bypass in Clarinda. Memorials are suggested to Family Choice.
