JUDY TURNER Judy Carole Dugan Blake Turner was born March 14, 1949 to Lowell and Dorothy (Diggs) Dugan in Clarinda, Iowa. She passed away peacefully at her home April 30, 2018. She grew up on the family farm and attended country schools at Gravity, Iowa. She graduated from Bedford High School in 1967 and married Richard Blake in July 1967. To that union four sons were born: Jeff, Jim, Josh and Jason. Judy followed Richard to Georgia and Turkey in 1967 and visited England. Judy was an avid farmer milking 40 Holsteins. She loved all animals raising goats, sheep, chickens and horses. Trigger was the horse she rode to school in the country. Her favorite horse was Rabbit. Judy graduated IWCC in 1994 with an LPN in nursing. She worked seventeen years at Goldenrod Care Center in Clarinda. She was a 4-H leader and an American Legion Auxiliary President for many years. Judy retired n November 2011 and lost Richard January 2012. On March 20, 2014 she married Ray Turner and continued living on the family farm raising garden, goats, chickens and milking her Jersey cow. She was preceded in death by her parents Lowell and Dorothy and first husband Richard. Judy was a loving mother, wife and Christian. She will be missed by all who knew her. Judy is survived by her husband Ray; sisters Betty (Jim) Hughes of Gravity, Connie (Ed) Townsend of Bedford; sons Jeff (Fran) Blake, Kansas City, Jim Blake, Bedford, Josh (Ashley Steeve) Blake, Gravity and Jason (Sam) Blake, Winterset; step kids Kyle and Kelli; grandkids Echo, Milo, Brayton and Kenleigh; step grandkids Jenessa and Bentley; great grandkids Jasper, Soren and Sonara along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Judy Turner, 69 of Gravity, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 3, at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel, Bedford. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel, Bedford. Memorials are suggested to Family Choice. Interment will be at Washington Cemetery, Gravity, Iowa.
