UPDATED!!!!!!! Celebration of Life services for Roberta Bradway of Omaha, Nebraska, and formerly of Newton and Villisca, will be held at noon on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at the Wolfe Funeral Home of Villisca, Iowa, burial to follow the service at the Oak Hill Cemetery of Corning, Iowa. Family and friends will meet at the community center in Villisca at 10:30 prior to the service for Lunch and fellowship. Roberta Dora Bradway was born January 16, 1929 in Decatur, Iowa, to Willard Ray and Ruth Elenore (Miller) Piercy. She was one of 6 children in her family. She attended country school, graduating from Corning High School. In Corning, Iowa, on August 14, 1949, she was united in marriage to Lenard Bradway. She taught school for 4 ½ years in southwest Iowa. She was a stay-at-home mother while she raised her daughters then worked in the Newton Hot Lunch Program for 13 years. She later worked for Principal Insurance for 13 years retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Corning Christian Church, the Newton First Christian Church, and later the Villisca United Methodist Church. Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lenard in 1975, two sisters: Joyce Hoffman and Ruby King, son-in-law Steve Jones, brothers-in-law: Jack Gray, James West, Joe Hoffman, and Wilber King. She is survived by two daughter: Diane (Dave) Wadle of Stockton, California and Barbara (Calvin) Jackson of Omaha, Nebraska; 4 grandchildren: Michael (Sarah) Jones, Jeffrey (Michele) Jones, Melissa (Justin) Claypool and Ryan (Jenny Whisenhunt) Wadle; 7 great grandchildren: Brianna, Marcus, and Caitlyn Jones; Evan Jones; Mindy, Ella and Ian Claypool; sister: Joann Gray; 2 brothers: Ronald (Joanne) Piercy and Willard (Judy) Piercy. Memorials may be made to the family for distribution. Wolfe Funeral Home of Villisca, Iowa, in charge of arrangements.
