Obituary of Marcella Georgine McKay

Marcella Georgine was born January 15, 1922, to Ruth May (lake) and Doyle Hugo Hicks in New Market, Iowa. She passed away on December 24, 2023, at Clarinda Regional Health Center after a brief illness.

When she was little, her parents divorced. Her father remarried in 1932 when she was ten. Her mother married just two years later, on May 20, 1934, to Irvin Jerome McKay when Marcella was twelve. She attended school and graduated from New Market class of 1941, Go Miners. Marcella took the McKay last name by the time she graduated from high school. Marcella lived in New Market with her mother her entire life. Until 1993, she moved to Regency Apartments (Southview Apartments) in Clarinda and then to the Eiler Senior Living in 1999 and finally to Azria Health.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Marcella is survived by her cousins, extended family and friends at Azria Health in Clarinda Iowa and all that knew her.
