Lyle E Betts was born September 26, 1940, in Auburn, Nebraska to Robert and Lillian (Byrom) Betts.

After school, he joined the army as a cook and served for two years. He married Shiela, and together they had a son, Byron. They divorced and a couple of years later he married Myra Tanner and had two daughters, Cindy, and Wendy. They divorced, and he married the love of his life, Sharon Wilmes in 1977, and gained a son, Timothy, who he later adopted. He was truly devoted to Sharon and her special needs.

Lyle loved many things, including westerns, motorcycles, gardening and cooking spicy foods. He did construction for many years and took pride in his drywall. His son even got to learn from him.
Preceding him in death are his parents; sisters, Wanda Reed, and Barbara Kay (Dan) Bolan.

Survived by children Byron (Kim) Copeland, Cindy (Tracy) Haynes, Wendy (Steve) Rowell, and Timothy (Sheri) Betts, brother Bobby Betts and brothers-in-law Jim Reed, and Greg Wilmes, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren many nieces, nephews, and friends.
