To the Family of Larry Pond, Larry has a heart of gold and is a good man. I worked with Larry on the Nodaway Fire Department for several years and he was my neighbor until I moved away. My Son grew up with Larry and Becky’s Sons and were good friends.
You will be missed Larry, rest in peace I loved knowing you and your Family thank you for being a friend.

All my memories of Larry bring a smile to my face. He was such a sweet person and had such a great sense of humor. One of my favorite memories is of Larry was that he gave me a $5 bill ring when I was a kid. I remember thinking he was so cool because he could make them, and being thrilled that I got to have one. I think I might even still have it tucked away somewhere still today. He brought joy to all of us with simple things. He will be missed.

Sincere condolences and many prayers for Larry's family. We have known Larry and Becky for many years. Larry and Tim were on the Nodaway Volunteer Fire Department. Larry spent a lot of time and energy to the NFD and his dedication to his volunteerism continued for a lifetime. He will be remembered for his dedication and commitment to community. He will most be remember for his kindness and love of his family. God bless you all.

Larry and I graduated together Class of ‘78. We even went to kindergarten together and rode the same bus home! With a class of 50 something students you know everyone. I remember Larry as a kind soul who wouldn’t hurt a fly even if it deserved it! Rest in peace Larry. Gone but not forgotten.

There are so many childhood memories we shared with this family. We would visit Uncle Harlan and Aunt Dorothy regularly. I will never forget the owls in the house, Larry's bed in his closet, his huge pink rabbit, the life-sized poster of Joe Namath, and his spider on a string from the back room. Larry was always so much fun and was always ready to joke around.
He and Aunt Dorothy once had a discussion about the radio station WHO. Dorothy would tell Larry she heard something on WHO and he would say who? She would reply WHO. He again would say who. You know Larry WHO. And on it went while we all giggled.
Aunt Dorothy also got the biggest kick out of the high school football announcer saying, " Pond is deep" when Larry was back to receive the kickoff at the football game.
So many awesome memories that I will never forget.
