Lucille Marie (Ritnour) Crouse was born on October 10, 1937, to Ferroll Richard and Gladys Marie (Swanson) Ritnour.  She was born on the Jack Cooney farm, three miles southeast of Villisca.

She attended school and graduated from Red Oak High School in May 1955.  After high school, she worked at Mutual of Omaha as a file clerk.  On June 17, 1956, at the First Baptist Church in Red Oak, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard Glen Crouse.

She continued working until she joined Richard in Japan, where he was stationed in the Air Force.  Lucille enjoyed her time in Japan.  Upon returning home, Richard and Lucille farmed in Montgomery County.  In 1968, they bought a farm in Adams County.  To their union, two children were born, Frederick Lynn and Maria Eileen.

Richard and Lucille were members of the United Methodist Church in Nodaway until it closed its doors.  Lucille worked for Montgomery County memorial Hospital in the insurance department, until she retired in 1998.

Lucille enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her three granddaughters.  She enjoyed needle work, including crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Marcia Crouse, parents Ferroll and Gladys, and sister-in-law Joy Ritnour.

Lucille is survived by her husband Richard Crouse of 67 years, son Fred Crouse of Clive, brother Steve Ritnour of Red Oak, sister Carolyn (Jim) Baker of Red Oak, IA; granddaughters Rebecca (Tom) Corbitt of Des Moines, IA, Julia Crouse of Fayetteville, NC, and Olivia Crouse of Clive, IA along with many other family members and friends.
