Obituary of Bonnie Nosekabel

Please share a memory of Bonnie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Bonnie B. Nosekabel was born to Edward (Ted) and Lucille Davies in Clarinda Iowa, on January 26, 1941, and passed away on July 7th, 2023, at Red Oak Rehab and Care Center, surrounded by her loved ones.

She grew up between Guss Iowa, and New Market. She was raised by Elsie and Albert Soffiebroughten. Bonnie graduated from Villisca High School.

Bonnie had a humongous heart. She loved helping people, no matter what! Bonnie had her good and bad moments, just like everyone else does.

She was a farmer as well; in 1974, she moved to Nodaway Iowa, and started raising farm animals.  She loved her animals! In 1983, she met Doyal Nosekabel Sr. while living in Glenwood, Iowa. Later, they moved to Nodaway Iowa, to live on the homestead. In 1986, they had “their last of the Mohicans” and “the very last dill pickle of the bottom of the barrel,” their baby boy Aaron Lynn Nosekabel.

Over the years, she worked as a nurse aide, worked in nursing homes, worked in home health care, took care of two sisters in Glenwood, Iowa, and worked at Malvern Manor (the nursing home formerly known as Gerry Reed Nursing Home) she was a cook and was a medical assistant.  She had factory jobs, raised animals on the farm, she was a very hard worker. Not only that, but she was a people person and was the strongest and hardest-working woman that you ever knew. Bonnie was always helping someone somehow.

Bonnie is preceded in death by Alfred and Elsie Soffiebroughten, her biological mother and father; her brothers and sister; her husband, Doyal Lynn Nosekabel Sr.; stepson Doyal Lynn Nosekabel Jr.; step-grandchildren Marsha and Robbie; step-granddaughter Krista; step-great-great-grandson Emmett; and grandson-in-law John D. Hall.

She is survived by Tammy Zuniga her beloved daughter, and family of Creston Iowa; her baby boy, who isn't such a baby anymore; Aaron Lynn Nosekabel of Glenwood, Iowa; and significant other Amy Hill and family; three stepchildren: Shawn Nosekabel Sr. and wife Deb of Glenwood, Iowa, Dianna, and Brian Fogelman of Tea, South Dakota, Earl Nosekabel and wife Nancy of Glenwood, IA, Kay Nosekabel of Atlantic, Iowa; many grandkids great-grandkids, great-great-grandkids, and many more cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as several close friends and other family members.
