Obituary of Marjorie Irene Lacox

Marjorie Irene Lacox was born at home in Hepburn, Iowa, on September 14, 1931, to Ned and Ethel Melissa (Reed) Farrens.

She attended Rose Ridge country school for 8 years, then went to Clarinda for high school, graduated class of 1951.   She worked on the homestead with her parents helping with the greenhouse and Farrens Roadside Market, until she married Rex Eugene Lacox September 16, 1962.  Together, they had three children; Virginia Ann, Dale Allen, and Gail Eugene.

When Rex and Marjorie started out, they settled north of Gus to farm.  They lived there for 24 years, then moved to into Clarinda in 1986. For most of Marjorie’s married life she was a homemaker, when the kids got older, she picked up a few businesses to clean for, her biggest ones were Clarinda Printing and Graphics and Barker Implement.

Marjorie enjoyed church, she was a member of the United Methodist Church and The First Christian Churches in Clarinda.  She also greatly enjoyed attending the Cowboy Church, reading the local newspapers and gardening.  Marjorie was a big fan of watching RFD TV, she loved the music shows.

She is preceded in death by her husband Rex, and her parents Ned and Ethel Farrens and brother Robert Farrens.

Marjorie is survived by her three children; Virginia Beason, Dale Lacox, and Gail Lacox, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and brother Paul Farrens along with other family and many friends, she will be missed.v
