Obituary of Reta Howard

Loreta Kay (Reta) was born in Villisca on June 17, 1945 to Paul Elles and Sara Lovay (Munson) Wasson.  Loreta was given the last name of Howard at birth.

Loreta or Reta as she was known by many, grew up and made her living in southwest Iowa. She loved to fish.  She worked at Eaton Corporation and loved to drive a forklift.  She worked at Eaton Corporation until she was ready to retire in the mid 90’s.

Reta was also a lifelong member at the Church of God in Clarinda and Shambaugh.

Reta was preceded in death by her parents, brothers George, LeRoy and Larry and Sisters Dorthea, Naomi, Alwida, Patsy and Joan.

She is survived by sister Julia Miller, several nieces and nephews, lifelong friend Terri McClarnon, and many other dear friends.

Celebration of Life memorial service for Reta Howard, 73 of Clarinda, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Walker-Merrick-Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel in Clarinda. Interment will be later at a later date.
