Obituary of Karen Sue Larson

Karen Sue Larson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away at her family's home October 26, 2020, at the age of 75. Karen had been a former resident of Gravity, Iowa. Karen was born November 17, 1944, at home around the town of Carbon located in Adams County, Iowa, to the late Hobert and Elizabeth (Ziehe) Briggs. Her childhood days consisted of growing up on a farm, going to various country schools and later attending high school in Villisca, Iowa. Karen was married to Kenneth Larson in 1962 and to this union five children were born. Karen had spent a few years being a waitress until health prevented her abilities to perform such a task. She did, however, did some volunteer work at the Clarinda library with her sister and working at a charitable clothing store in Bedford before it closed. Karen's favorite pastimes included learning the art of quilting, embroidery work, reading and watching her western movies and shows. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marguerite Lucille (Briggs) Davis. She is survived by her brother, Robert Briggs of Clarinda, Iowa; her five children, Cheri (Larson) Frain of Council Bluffs, Mark Larson of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Kevin Larson of Corning, Iowa, Lori (Larson) Cohen of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Kathy (Larson) Browning of Boulder, Wyoming; three sons-in-law and one daughter-in-law; one niece and one nephew; nine grandsons and one granddaughter; three great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons; grand dogs Sara, Max, Cocoa Bean and Savannah; great-grand dogs Klaus and Ory and great-grand cats Ruby, Bilbo, Thomas, Charlie, Maggie and Nellie.
