Being Judy's sister and Vince being my Math teacher in Nodaway before they were married was sometimes hard. One day in math Vince stepped out of the classroom for a little while. Merle Derry sat behind me and thought it would be fun to push my desk forward. I pushed it back. It continued until Vince walked back in. Who got in trouble?? Me. I had to do extra math problems. Well I guess Merle had to also. I did learn to accept him. He was a great brother-in-law. We had a lot of good times as a family. I miss those times.
Prayers and lots of hugs to all of you until we can see each other again.

I've been thinking of you all this week and remembering the fun times at your house with the sheep, strawberry picking, taco night, sleepovers, Christmas celebrations, and more. I remember watching Uncle Vince mow and take care of the animals. I remember him as my coach and a coach and teacher to MANY! Blessings to you all and please know that I'm praying for you! Love you!

So sorry to hear of your loss. Of course, I have known him forever and will miss our talks whenever I stopped at your place. As an alum of our Tarkio College, I am so glad that we got him inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame a few years ago and he got to enjoy that night. Prayers for all of your family. Loved the video.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Vince had a big heart and helped so many people.
My Grandparents lived in Villisca. I donated many toys over the years so some child could have presents under the Christmas tree. May God wrap his loving arms around you to comfort you for the days to come.

Janice,
Sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Easy to see why the community of Villisca thought so much of him. According to the obit., he was involved many activities at the high school(teacher, coach, official for several sporting events). Our deepest condolences to you and your family at this most difficult time. God bless.

Such a wonderful man with a tender heart! He and Judy/family welcomed me into their hearts and home one College weekend and taught me how to make “real” tacos, while Vince worked on his bikes! I have fond memories of our time together. I’m so sorry for your loss and praying that God give you comfort during this time. With much love,

What a great guy! We are all better people for knowing him whether those of us who had him as a teacher knew it at the time or not. Some people are everyday heroes. Mr. Else was one of them. Thanks for sharing him Else family.
