Obituary of Bob Hickman

Robert Walter Hickman was born November 13, 1935 to Walter and Elise Claire (Waddington) Hickman in Ontario, Oregon. Bob passed away Wednesday evening October 24, 2018 at Westridge Care Center in Clarinda, Iowa at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 11 days. Bob grew up and attended school in Oregon and graduated from Beaverton Union High School. He joined the Air Force 1954, served and received an honorable discharge. He attended two years of college at Northwest Missouri State University. On August 24, 1958 in Albany, Missouri he married the love of his life Marcia and to that union they had two children, Melissa and Rob. Bob and Marcia were a great example from the Bible of two becoming one. He was a Christian and did his best to live that way. Bob was a business man for 43 years, selling furniture, appliances, carpeting and flooring. He also had many other varied businesses that he started and owned. He was a great entrepreneur. He was a big Nebraska Corn Huskers fan! He also liked to hunt, fish and fly air planes. He is preceded in death by his wife Marcia; parents Walter Hickman and Claire Hawn; brother Don Hickman and sister Charis Gilliam. Survivors include his children, Melissa Hickman, Platte City, Missouri, Rob Hickman and wife Joni, Clarinda, Iowa; two granddaughters, Kassandra Romey, Omaha, Nebraska and Bethany Hickman, Boston Massachusetts; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Romey and her father Matt; sisters Cheryl Thomas and husband Bill, Burlington, Washington and Maryalice Hammond, Vancouver, Washington; brother Thomas Hickman and wife Debbie, Portland, Oregon; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services for Bob Hickman, 82 of Clarinda, will be 10:30 Friday, Oct 26 at First Baptist Church in Clarinda with visitation one hour prior to the service. A lunch will immediately follow the service. Interment will at 2:30 Friday at Grandview Cemetery, Albany, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Bob Hickman Memorial Fund.
