Obituary of Joseph Arthur DiRisio

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joseph Arthur DiRisio was born November 15, 1956 to James Frederick and Hazel Lorene (Wilson) DiRisio.

Joe was born in New York state, raised in Iowa. He attended college at Iowa Western in Clarinda. His greatest passions were his son Travis, sports, religion and writing. He was a compassionate and dedicated father who loved his son Travis more than anything.

Some of Travis great memories are:

He was a caring, fun loving guy. My dad was always willing to defend the ones he loved.  He loved to watch college sports, especially Iowa State!! GO CYCLONES! My dad loved to listen to music, anything from the 50's to the 80's.

"I remember going fishing with my dad when I was little. We had a lot of fun mushroom hunting. "

"I remember when he agreed to let me live with him after I left job corps, even though the last time I lived with him I wasn’t very nice, he still let me come back and live with him"

"I remember one time when I was little, my dad and I were in his car together and for fun we were going 100 miles per hour. “

“I also remember when he and two of his friends drove all the way down to Florida to pick me up."

Joe is preceded in death by his father James DiRisio, mother Hazel Beadel, sister Rose Minteer, brother-in-law Charles Pratt.

Joe is survived by his son Travis DiRisio; brothers: James and Kenny DiRisio; sisters: Jackie Pratt, Audrey DiRisio, Coralyn Wilkie, Robin Laster and a large extended family, cousins, nieces, nephews along with many friends.  Joe will be missed by all.
